2/3 on first Predictions....Not Bad eh!

ACL had a decent start then. One tight game, two close games – it was a good advertisement for ACL. It just makes you wonder if Lalit Modi had all this planned out! Back to the action though and let’s get on with what really happened on the field:

a.       Intimidators vs. Challengers: For Intimidators Damru scored big ably supported by BR Hills. Not only did Damru bat, he bowled as well. After Intimidators had scored almost 150 it was always going to be a matter of time before the Challengers’ batsmen perished trying the big shots. However, if there was an award for the worst bowling performance of the season – we got two strong nominations already. Going by the looks of it, they are sure to put in more such award winning performances!

b.      Supernova vs. Ravens: Ravens lost because of two reasons. First, they forgot to bring their prime competency to the game – which is as you know is sledging – and suffered an easy defeat. It is not all their fault though as Lalit had smartly got CM to officiate which made it terribly hard for Ravens’ to sledge freely. Second, they let off Hey Ram and paid the price. Curiously Another Bun quietly hid himself at long on. While Kallizaaban did attack the opposition (and massaged them back by dropping catches), Another Bun was happy sledging his own players.

c.       Vandals vs. Raptors: Raptors got the strategy wrong. They did not send in Betaal alongwith Takla at the top of the order. Raptors played as if they thought a 50 would be a good score. By the time Betaal joined Takla (and both excited themselves enough to play a few shots) any hopes of a decent score had already vanished and it was always going to be tough to defend. Vandals played exactly like an over – confident Indian team against Bangladesh and it required 58 balls to chase it down with half the side out. Vindaloo as usual was seen giving plenty of moral support, free advice and unwanted aggression without doing anything with the bat or ball.

Now that the first round it is back to the drawing board for some teams while other teams who have scraped might do them a favour by going back to their drawing boards as well. Let’s see what happens - will be back for Friday morning predictions!

(P.S.:
Raptors were seen wearing Yellow jerseys with an outline of a lizard on the front. I am sure they would have started out with Raptors but then would have broken it down to its principal components to make it a lizard. Can someone tell them that the time spent in getting weird jerseys might actually be better spent in practicing cricket?
Pyscat was emotional charged after registering the first win. I knew it – was the emotion. Firstly, ‘I knew it’ has already been patented by someone. Secondly, do you know that Supernova has as much chance of winning the ACL as N. Srinivisan resigning from BCCI office on moral grounds?
Craydit and Gladrags were conspicuous by their absence. Gladrags it seems wants to distance himself from the ‘sledging’ team. Someone reminded him that as a ‘leader’ he cannot condone these things. We might see him in an avatar of quiet sporting personality in the coming matches which would be interesting. Craydit for all purposes has resigned himself to the fate that in all certainty his team is doomed.
As you know ACL was also – I am a little emotional myself – ‘Inaugurated’. Given the massive importance of the event in the history of mankind it just made so much sense. I hear that multiple leaders blessed the ACL and encouraged the players in the presence of all the teams - represented only by either the owners/icon players. We might be receiving CDs of it in the coming weeks to have a piece of the history for ourselves.)

  1. How come Raptors lost there match?? sting operation revealed that BETAAL fixed this match with Shikari Shambhu .From the sources the converstaion between two were as follows:
Shikari Shambhu: will give my wicket to you to prove others that you are not chucker
Betaal : sure my bro.....will lose my match bcoz in the end ppl will remember players and not entire team
Shikari Shambhu: what an innovation...definetly you will become great leader
Betaal : I am already a great leader and learnt all these tricks by attending 2G parties
Shikari Shambhu: deal done.....but you wont attend the 2G party after the match....bcoz in emotion it might come out of your heart after 2-3 drinks
Betaal : sure my bro.....will make some excuse....but you please keep a track that no one else talks to leaders there and try to impress them...otherwise it will be very tough year for me.
Shikari Shambhu: sure.....c u on field tmrw.

    1. If this is serious then we need to call ACP Pradyuman from CID to find out the truth and please don't forget to include DAYA as he will help others in breaking the doors to reveal suspense.

  2. Round 2 predictions :

Vandals vs Challengers : Challengers have some points to prove, going by Bypa's form, it should be easy for them to defeat Vandals though Vandals came out victorious in their first match upsetting the Raptors....watch out guys for the towering sixers from Bypa !

Supernovas vs Raptors : I guess Raptors should pull this one, after their disaster first match, they are all upbeat and will come out strongly. Supernova bank heavily on Heyram, and if he fails then its curtains for them, Raptors have the quality in bowling, Sumi can be a match winner and given the way he bowled in the first match, its hard to hit him...I guess Heyram will struggle against quality attack....Overall, this should be a Raptors dominated match.

Ravens vs Intimidators : Intimidators played well in their first match, the opponents bowling attack was not that great, i guess they are going to struggle against Ravens who posses a potent bowling attack.....Ravens could win this match easily. Damo watch out for Shri, Raul and Ash....tough bowlers to hit....

  6. Here are the list of my favourite players :

    1. Bypa : Very aggressive players, can hit sixers at will and also has the canny ability of switch hit, proved his talent in the first match and will be the player to watch in this years ACL

    2. Damu : Going by his lusty hitting in the first match, he could be a dangerous player, but need to watch how he plays against quality attack, given his all-rounder ability, he can also be a player to watch out for

    3. Shri : Raven's has a good bowling attack with Shri taking up the responsibility of a front line bowler, has a decent pace and can be very hand customer, if Raven's have to reach the knock out stage, Shri has to delivery consistently.

    4. Heyram : Supernova's only hope, played well in the first match, has the ability to win matches single handedly, question raises on his temparement, he can be easily provoked and have the tendancy of throwing away his wicket.....one of the dangerous players in ACL...a match winner

    5. Sumi: Havent seen much of him, first match he bowled good spinners, can be very handy with the bat....good allrounder and a economical bowler....Raptor's future depends on Sumi's performance...hope he performance well

    6. Gupte : Vandals only hope and a good all rounder, bowls within his limitations and bats well also....if he can perform consistently then Vandals can easily make it to the knock out stages...

  7. Predictions for 4/26 matches :

Vandals vs Challengers : Vandals surprised everyone with their win agains the strong Raptors, they have couple of good players like Gupte and Murari....Challengers played well in their first match......I'm weighing my odds agains Vandals.....they should win this one comfortably

Intimidators vs Raptors : Raptors are the favourites to win this match, except for Damu...Intimidators don't have a big player who could win the match for them...Raptors on the other hand have Sumi, Baldy and bashok...these guys are very good and should perform well against the weaker side like Intimidators

Challengers vs Ravens : Challengers might face the heat...Ravens have the best bowling attacks and should wind this match pretty comfortably....if Challengers can get Another Bun cheaply, then they have a slim chances of winning......my bet is on Ravens

Supernova vs Vandals : This should be a good contest between bat and ball....with Heyram at his prime form, he could deliver teller blows to vandals...if Vandals can get Heyram cheapily, then is should be a cake walk for them to win this match....my favourite is Vandals
